INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The Colonels are 2-1 against Vanderbilt.  EKU won the first two meetings – 4-1 on Feb. 28, 1992 in Macon, Georgia and 6-5 on March 14, 2018 in Nashville.  The Commodores won the most recent contest, 6-4, on April 13, 2021 in Nashville.

-  In the 2021 game, EKU got the tying run to second base in the top of the ninth inning, but couldn't complete the comeback in a 6-4 loss to No. 2 ranked Vanderbilt.  The Colonels began the ninth down three.  With two outs and two on, Daniel Harris IV drove in a run with an infield single.  A passed ball allowed Kendal Ewell to move to third and Harris, representing the tying run, to advance into scoring position at second base.  However, a fly ball ended the comeback bid and the game.  Ewell was 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored.  Jordan Fox, Jake Lewis and Louis Davenport III combined for three and one third innings of scoreless relief to end the game.  The trio allowed two hits and struck out four.  CJ Rodriguez had a 4-for-4 night with two runs for the Commodores
