MUNCIE, Ind. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team (6-9, 0-0 ASUN) hits the road to play Ball State (2-5, 0-0 MAC) on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
THE COLONELS
EKU enters the match with a 6-9 record, falling to Middle Tennessee by a score of 4-0 on Feb. 23.
The Maroon and White led by
Emmeline Polevoi in singles play, who has a team-high eight wins from several spots in the lineup.
Masha Fedenko has seven wins in singles from the No. 1 court and she earned the ASUN Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Jan. 17.
Marilou Cote and
Izem Elif Olcer have six wins each in singles play.
Cote and Olcer are the leading pair in doubles for the Colonels, posting a 5-1 mark from the bottom two spots in the lineup. Cote also leads the team with seven doubles wins.
SCOUTING BALL STATE
Ball State enters the contest with a 2-5 mark, losing to Indiana by a score of 4-0 on Feb. 17. The Cardinals have won their matches against Oakland and Youngstown State this season. EKU leads the all-time series 11-5 against Ball State. However, the Cardinals swept the Colonels by a score of 9-0 in their last matchup in 1995.
