THE COLONELS
- EKU (1-6) picked up its first win of the season on Friday, a 10-5 decision over Oakland. However, the Golden Grizzlies won the final two games of the series.

Conner Davis leads the team with a .375 average.
- Â Senior outfielder
Max Williams has two home runs and a team-best seven RBIs while batting .304 through the first seven games.

Mauri Bejarano got two starts over the weekend at second base and hit his first career home run. He is now batting .400.

Rese Brown is scheduled to start. He is 0-0 on the season in three relief appearances.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- The Cardinals won three out of four over the weekend against St. Bonaventure to move to 3-4 on the season. UofL won the final three games of the series, scoring 54 runs combined.

-  Senior outfielder JT Benson leads the team with a .471 average. He also has five stolen bases and six runs scored.

- Â Brandon Anderson, a junior third baseman, has played in three of the team's first seven games, but leads the squad with eight RBIs, going 5-for-10 at the plate.

-  Tucker Biven, a sophomore right-hander, has made three appearances out of the bullpen for a total of two innings. He has not allowed a run and has given up two hits.
- Â Louisville has not announced its starting pitcher for the game.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The Cardinals lead the all-time series 68-41. The Colonels are 15-49 in games played in Louisville. UofL has won two straight in the series, including an 11-0 decision last season.

-  In last year's game, EKU fell to then No. 4 ranked Louisville on Feb. 28, 2023 in Louisville. The Cardinals got a solo home run from Patrick Forbes in the second inning. A three-run dinger off the bat of Jack Payton in the third made it 4-0. Forbes hit a second homer, this time a two-run shot, in the fourth to push the home team out in front 6-0. Three players –

Jalen Jones – had one hit each for the Colonels. Forbes finished 2-for-2 with a walk, three runs and three RBIs.
