EKU Women’s Tennis Looks To Extend Three-Match Winning Streak Against UT Chattanooga And Campbellsville

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team (4-3, 0-0 ASUN) looks to extend its three-match winning streak against UT Chattanooga (3-3, 0-0 SoCon) at 10:00 a.m. and Campbellsville (0-1, 0-0 MSC) at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
 
THE COLONELS
EKU enters the match with a 4-3 record, as they look to build momentum after beating Union College and Northern Kentucky in a doubleheader on Friday.
 
The Colonels are led by Emmeline Polevoi in singles play, who boasts a 6-1 record from several spots in the lineup. Izem Elif Olcer has a four-match winning streak in singles, earning her first career collegiate singles win against Marshall on Jan. 25. Zhansaya Bakytzhan followed Olcer by earning her first career collegiate singles win against Tennessee State on Jan. 26. Sasha Parkhomenko has four wins in singles this season from the No. 2 court.
 
EKU earned the doubles point in their last three matches. Parkhomenko and Polevoi have a 3-0 mark in doubles from the No. 2 spot. Olcer and Marilou Cote also have a 3-0 record in doubles play from the No. 3 position.
 
SCOUTING UT CHATTANOOGA
UT Chattanooga enters the contest with a 3-3 mark, sweeping Northern Kentucky 7-0 on Saturday. Rozalie Dohnalova and Emma Peeler lead the Mocs with three wins each in singles play. The Mocs beat the Colonels 6-1 in 2023, as Chattanooga leads the all-time series 6-2.
 
SCOUTING CAMPBELLSVILLE
Campbellsville enters the match with a 0-1 record, losing to Lindsey Wilson back on October 6. The Tigers posted an 18-7 mark in 2023, ending their season in a 4-3 loss to Lindsey Wilson at the Mid-South Conference semifinals.
