RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team (7-11, 0-1 ASUN) continues Atlantic Sun Conference play against in-state rival Bellarmine (9-9, 1-1 ASUN) on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
THE COLONELS
EKU enters the match with a 7-11 record, falling to Austin Peay by a score of 6-1 on March 15.
The Maroon and White are led by
Masha Fedenko in singles play, who has a team-high nine wins from the No. 1 position, and she earned the ASUN Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Jan. 17.
Emmeline Polevoi and
Marilou Cote are tied with Fedenko with nine singles wins this season. Cote earned a straight-set victory against Austin Peay from the No. 3 spot in singles, 6-3, 6-4.
Madison Hill and
Sasha Parkhomenko dominated to win their doubles match against Austin Peay from the No. 3 court, 6-1. Cote leads the team with nine wins in doubles play.
SCOUTING BELLARMINE
Bellarmine enters the contest with a 9-9 mark, beating ASUN foe Queens by a score of 5-2 on Feb. 29. The Knights are led by Nikola Kollaritsch in singles, boasting a 10-2 record from the bottom three spots in the lineup. Bellarmine is led by Vendula Krysolva in doubles play, posting a 10-3 mark.
The Colonels earned their first ASUN Conference win in program history against the Knights, winning by a score of 5-2 in 2023. EKU owns a 2-0 all-time record against Bellarmine.
