RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University and University of Kentucky baseball teams will meet in a 2-game home-and-home series this week, starting Tuesday in Lexington.

The teams will meet in Richmond at Earle Combs Stadium on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday's game will begin at 4 p.m. and air live on the SEC Network+. Wednesday's contest will air on ESPN+.Â

Wednesday will be $2 day at the ballpark. Hot dogs, beer and soda are all just $2 each.

THE COLONELS
- EKU (2-9) lost two of three to Western Illinois over the weekend. The Colonels didn't allow more than five runs in any of the three games.

Colby Ott made his first three starts of the season against Western Illinois. He hit .400 with a .571 on-base percentage and a .700 slugging percentage. Three of his four hits were doubles.

Conner Davis has a team-high .385 batting average.

Hamilton Martinez has made three relief appearances. He has not allowed an earned run and has only allowed one hit in three innings.

Quinton Hall will start for the Colonels. He is 0-2 this season in two starts. He as struck out seven in five and one-third innings. The starter for Wednesday's game has not been determined.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Kentucky is 10-1 this season and has won six straight. The Wildcats swept Lipscomb over the weekend, holding the Bisons to one run in two games and four in the other.

- Â Second baseman Emilien Pitre is batting .349 this season with a team-best 12 RBIs and is second on the team with 12 runs scored.

-  Evan Byers, a 5-foot-11 left-hander, and Jackson Nove, a 6-foot-5 lefty, have combined for nine relief appearances and haven't allowed a run in 14 and two-thirds combined innings. The duo have only allowed six hits and have struck out 17.
-  Redshirt freshman right-hander Drew Lafferty will make his third start of the season on Tuesday. He is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA through five innings. He has not allowed a hit and has struck out two. Wednesday's starter has not been determined.
