RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University will host Wright State for a 3-game series this weekend at Earle Combs Stadium.

Friday's series opener is set to begin at 2 p.m. Game two of the series on Saturday is also a 4 p.m. start. The first two games will air live on ESPN+. The finale on Sunday will get underway at 1 p.m.

Friday is BYOF – Bring Your Own Friend with buy one get one FREE tickets. Baseball Bingo also returns on Friday, with the first three winners taking home EKU baseball mini bats. There will be an EKU blanket giveaway on Saturday. Sunday will be Kids Day. All kids 12 and under receive FREE admission and get to run the bases after the game.

THE COLONELS
- EKU (2-11) lost a pair of games to No. 25 Kentucky this week. However, in game two with the Wildcats the Colonels pitched a no-hitter for seven innings before falling 5-2.

Conner Davis leads the team with a .348 average. Right fielder
Max Williams is hitting .295 with a team-best eight RBIs.
- Â The Colonels are hitting .214 as a team and averaging 3.5 runs per game.

-Â In appearances against No. 6 Vanderbilt and No. 25 Kentucky,
Rese Brown has pitched nine innings, allowed one run on two hits, walked one and struck out six.

Nathan Lawson will start on Friday. He is 1-0 with a 7.71 ERA.Â
Ryker Walton, a junior right-hander, will get the ball for game two of the series. He is 1-1 with a 3.52 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 15 and one-third innings. Sunday's starter has not been determined.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Wright State is 4-7 overall and has won two in a row. The Raiders' first seven games of the season were at Louisiana and Oklahoma.

- Â Catcher/designated hitter Sammy Sass his hitting a team-best .400 and leads the squad in runs (12) and RBIs (14).

- Â Right fielder Jay Luikart has a team-high four home runs to go along with 12 RBIs and a .347 average.

-  Wright State is batting .281 as a team and has a .381 on-base percentage. The Raiders are averaging 6.7 runs per game, but have allowed 8.3 per game.
-  Jake Shirk will start for Wright State on Friday. The senior right-hander is 0-2 with a 7.31 ERA this season. Ty Roder, a redshirt sophomore righty, will start game two of the series. He is 0-1 with a 15.95 ERA. The game three starter, junior right-hander Josh Laisure, is 0-1 with a 5.56 ERA.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Wright State leads the all-time series 20-14, but the Colonels hold an 8-6 advantage in games played in Richmond. The two teams have not met since April 27, 2005 when EKU pulled out a 4-3 win in Dayton.

-  In the last meeting, the Colonels scored three runs in the top of the eighth to overcome a 3-1 deficit and take a 4-3 victory. Tony Wells capped off the comeback with a 2-run double in the eighth. Blake Anderson got the win for the Colonels after blanking the Raiders in the seventh and eighth innings.
