EKU Women’s Tennis Begins Final Regular Season Road Trip Against North Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team (9-16, 2-6 ASUN) begins its final regular season road trip against North Florida (10-9, 5-3 ASUN) on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the UNF Tennis Complex.
 
THE COLONELS
EKU enters the match with a 9-16 record, falling to FGCU by a score of 7-0 on April 7. The Colonels secured victories against Bellarmine and Queens in Atlantic Sun Conference play so far this season.
 
The Maroon and White are led by Emmeline Polevoi in singles play, who has a team-high 12 wins from various spots in the lineup. Marilou Cote has 11 wins in singles play from the No. 2 and 3 courts. Masha Fedenko has 10 singles wins from the No. 1 position, and she earned the ASUN Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Jan. 17.
 
Cote leads EKU in doubles, accumulating a team-high 10 wins from all three spots in the lineup. The Colonels secured the doubles point in their two ASUN wins against Bellarmine and Queens.
 
SCOUTING NORTH FLORIDA
North Florida enters the contest with a 10-9 mark, beating Austin Peay by a score of 4-3 on April 7. The Ospreys clinched a spot in the ASUN Conference Championship with the win against Austin Peay. UNF is led by Alisa Lyshko in singles, who has a team-high 11 singles wins. North Florida defeated EKU by a score of 6-1 in 2023, as they lead the all-time series 5-0.
