RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball program and head coach
Greg Todd continue to create unique opportunities for student-athletes, as the Colonels will play a home-and-home series with North Dakota in their next two games.
EKU (2-1) will host UND (0-3) at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday inside Baptist Health Arena. The Colonels will then travel to Grand Forks on Monday for an 8 p.m. ET match up Tuesday at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
Tickets for Sunday's game are available for $5 online or at the door. Fans unable to attend can watch live on ESPN+ with Wes Chandler and Kent Miller on the call.
Tuesday's game at North Dakota will be streamed on Summit League TV (subscription required). Both games can also be heard on the Colonels All-Access page.
EKU is coming off an 83–60 win over Evansville, a game in which six Colonels scored in double figures. Sophomore guard
Liz Freihofer led the team with 13 points, hitting two 3-pointers and going a perfect 3-for-3 at the free-throw line.
Freshman guard
Kenleigh Woods followed with her second career double-figure outing, scoring 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting with four assists.
As a team, EKU shot 47.7 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc. The Colonels have now held three consecutive opponents to just 60 or less points.
EKU ranks top 100 in the NCAA in 14 statistical categories, including No. 28 in 3-pointers per game, No. 36 in 3-point percentage, No. 41 in 3-point percentage defense, No. 51 in blocks per game, No. 61 in scoring defense, and No. 62 in field-goal percentage defense.
Scouting North Dakota
North Dakota (0-3) is searching for its first win under first-year head coach Dennis Hutter, having dropped road games to Minnesota (91–47) and Green Bay (67–43), as well as a home contest to Youngstown State (65–58). The Fighting Hawks are averaging 49.3 points per game while allowing 74.3 points per game.
As of Saturday, sophomore forward Ava Miller leads UND with 10.0 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. She has scored in double figures twice this season, including a 15-rebound performance against Youngstown State and an 18-rebound outing at Green Bay.
