Todd, a native of Berea, Kentucky, has taken the EKU women's basketball program to unprecedented heights in his four seasons with the program. In 2023-24, the Colonels were semifinalists in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament and earned at at-large bid to the 2024 Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) for the first time as a team since 2002.
Since Todd's arrival, EKU has won 73 games and has three consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 2000-03—just the fourth winning season stretch in program history. Two EKU student-athletes have combined for five ASUN Conference postseason awards, including former Colonel
Antwainette Walker who was a two-time ASUN First Team All-Conference selection and was named the 2022-23 ASUN Newcomer of the Year.
Another notch in his hall of fame career, since being at EKU, Todd was named the Lexington Herald-Leader Kentucky Women's Coach of the Year in 2023. In just four seasons with the program, Todd is fourth in school history in coaching wins (73) and has the highest winning percentage (.595) of any coach in program history who has been with the Colonels for four or more years.
Prior to his arrival in 2021, Todd had NCAA coaching stops at Morehead State (2014-21) and Transylvania University (2006-14) where he amassed 262 wins and was a three-time NCAA Tournament participant and two-time WNIT selection. With Transy, he was a four-time Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Coach of the Year and won three HCAC regular season titles and two tournament championships.
From 1992-2006, Todd coached in the Kentucky prep ranks with Lexington Catholic High School and Berea Community School where he won over 390 games and hoisted the KHSAA Girls' Sweet 16 trophy three times. He was named the EA Sports National High School Girls Basketball Coach of the Year in 2006 after leading Lexington Catholic with a 35-1 record en route to a state title, ending his time at the school with a 225-28 overall record.
Alongside Wednesday's Hall of fame induction, Todd is also a member of the Berea Community School Athletics Hall of Fame (2019), Lexington Catholic High School Hall of Fame (2019), and Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame (2017).
Todd, who is no stranger to the area, has spent his entire 33-year coaching career inside the Commonwealth and has checked off promises to rejuvenate the fan base back into women's basketball.
EKU (18-9, 8-6 ASUN) clinched a spot in the 2024 ASUN Conference Tournament with a win last game over Bellarmine on the road, marking postseason appearances for the Colonels in all four years as a member of the conference.
