RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball program has signed former Kentucky-Indiana All-Star participant
Jasmine Jordan to its 2025-26 roster, announced by head coach
Greg Todd on Friday afternoon.
Jordan is the second signee out of the transfer portal this offseason for Todd and the Colonels. Standing 6-foot-2, she averaged 18.2 points and 14.0 rebounds last season with the University of Rio Grande. She was named the River States Conference (RSC) Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-RSC in February.
"Jasmine is coming off an amazing freshman season with Rio Grande, she will no doubt make an impact on next year's roster," said Todd. "Jasmine has great length, awesome speed, and can expand the floor with range shooting. We can't wait to get her on campus as we prepare for another run at the ASUN Championship next season."
Last year with Rio Grande, Jordan was one of the most dominant players in the RSC and all of NAIA women's basketball, setting her school's freshman scoring record and single season records in doubles doubles and rebounds. She had 27 games scoring in double figures, including 14 games with 20 or more points and three games with 30 or more points.
In January, Jordan scored a career-high 39 points and 28 rebounds going 18-for-23 (78 percent) from the field in a 66-point win over Indiana-Columbus. Prominent on both ends of the floor, Jordan had 29 double doubles and had two games with 20 or more rebounds.
She ended her freshman campaign with Rio Grande shooting 51.6 percent from the field and 33.9 percent from beyond the arch. Jordan led her team to a 26-6 overall record and an RSC Championship in her freshman season. Rio Grande would advance to the NAIA Championship falling to Stillman, 83-79, in the opening round. The RedStorm spent most of the season nationally ranked in the NAIA Coaches' Poll.
In her prep days, a native of Ashland, Kentucky, Jordan attended Boyd County High School and led the Lady Lions to over 100 wins in five seasons with the program. Her senior year, Jordan averaged 19.6 points and 10.4 rebounds per game, she was selected for the Kentucky-Indiana All-Star Game and Kentucky-Ohio All-Star Game at the end of the season—only the second player from BCHS to participate in the event.
Her junior year, Jordan averaged another double double with 18.6 points and 11.7 rebounds per outing. Boyd County would advance to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) 16th Region Championship falling to Ashland Blazer—Jordan had 24 points and 13 rebounds in the title game.
During her sophomore season, Jordan helped Boyd County to an appearance in the KHSAA Sweet 16 averaging 10.8 points and 8.5 rebounds on the year. She had 11 points and 11 rebounds in the opening round against Meade County.
In five seasons with BCHS, Jordan helped her team to four KHSAA 64th District Championships and five appearances in the KHSAA 16th Region Championship. She departed the school with over 1,600 points and 1,040 rebounds.
EKU is coming off consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time since 2001-02 and back-to-back appearances in the Atlantic Sun Conference semifinals. The Colonels had three student-athletes named all-conference and have the second most wins (61) among Kentucky NCAA Division I schools since the 2022-23 season.
