ASUN Postseason Awards

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Eastern Kentucky University's AJ Groeneveld was selected to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman team on Monday.
 
Groeneveld led the Colonels with a .300 batting average, a .404 on-base percentage and 11 steals during the 2025 season.  He was second on the team with 24 runs scored and second with 25 walks.
 
The Pembroke Pines, Florida native played in 50 of the team's 55 games and started 45 times.  Groeneveld started games at five different positions – first base (19), right field (16), designated hitter (4), second base (3) and left field (3).
 
Groeneveld finished the season by reaching base in 15 straight games, the second-longest streak by a Colonel during the 2025 season.
 
On Feb. 28, Groeneveld had his first 3-hit game, finishing 3-for-4 with an RBI at West Georgia.  He hit his first collegiate home run against Rhode Island on March 7.  He had two 3-hit games over the final five games of the season, including a 3-for-3 performance with two runs and an RBI at North Alabama on May 10.
