LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's and women's track and field throwers opened 2026 at the Bellarmine Open on Friday.
 
Lariah Wooden took second in the women's shot put with a throw of 13.79m (45-03) while Daroyce Flemons also earned a third-place finish in the men's weight throw with a mark of 17.76m (58-03.25).
 
Also claiming top-five finishes were Amya Livingston in the shot put at 12.62m (41-05.00), with Matthew See claiming fifth in the men's shot put with a season's best 15.05m (49-04.50)
 
The Colonels will be back in action next Friday, January 23 in Louisville at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic.
