NEW ORLEANS, La. – Eastern Kentucky University will play a 3-game series at Tulane this weekend.

Friday's series opener will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET. Saturday's contest is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET. The series finale is Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET. All three games will air live on ESPN+.

THE COLONELS
- EKU is 2-6 after falling 6-5 at Louisville on Wednesday. The Colonels out-hit the Cardinals, 9-8, and got the tying run on base in the ninth.

Carson van Haaren will make his first Friday start of the season. The sophomore righty is 0-1 this season with seven strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings. Newcomer
Jacob Price will get the ball on Saturday. The redshirt junior right-hander is 0-1 with a 2.45 ERA. In 11 innings of work he has allowed three earned runs and struck out eight.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Tulane is now 6-3 after beating South Alabama, 15-2, on Wednesday. The Green Wave have won three of their last four.

- Â Sophomore outfielder Jason Wachs leads the team in hitting (.342) and RBIs (16).

-  Left-handed graduate student Jake Toporek has made three appearances out of the bullpen, allowing just one run on five hits in 5 2/3 innings. He has struck out six and has a 1.59 ERA.

-  Trey Cehajic, a right-handed grad student, will start the opener for Tulane. He is 0-0 with a 7.11 ERA and nine strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Beau Sampson will get the ball for game two. The junior lefty is 0-0 with a 12.00 ERA and 11 strikeouts in six innings. Sunday's starter is scheduled to be Jack Frankel, a sophomore right-hander who is 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA across 11 innings.
