KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – After winning the final two games of its first conference series of the season, Eastern Kentucky University will play at No. 22 Tennessee on Tuesday.

THE COLONELS
-Â EKU improved to 7-13 after opening Atlantic Sun Conference play by winning two of three at home against Central Arkansas over the weekend.

Ricco Longo now leads the team with a .382 batting average. The redshirt junior third baseman also has 13 RBIs and six runs scored. Longo started 36 games at Washington State in 2025 after playing two seasons at Spokane Falls Community College to begin his collegiate career.

- Â In EKU's 3-game series against Central Arkansas,
Jay Douglas hit .545 (6-for-11) with two doubles, four runs, three RBIs and two steals. He had a .667 on-base percentage and a .727 slugging percentage.

-  As a team, the Colonels hit .344 in the three games against UCA, out-scoring the Bears 34-24. EKU drew 23 walks and had a .492 on-base percentage.

-Â In nine appearances out of the bullpen this season,
Griffin Howell has not allowed a run in eight of them. He has made three straight, covering 5 1/3 innings, without allowing a run and striking out five.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Tennessee is 14-6 overall and 1-2 in Southeastern Conference games. The Volunteers won the series opener at No. 8 Georgia on Friday before losing the next two by a combined three runs.

-  Manny Marin, a sophomore infielder, leads the team with a .367 batting average. Junior Henry Ford leads the Vols in home runs (8), RBIs (25) and runs scored (19). The third baseman is second on the squad with a .353 average.

-  Taylor Tracey has made a midweek start each of the last two weeks and five appearances overall. The freshman left-hander is 0-0 with a 1.93 ERA and has 15 strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings. He has pitched three innings in each of his two starts.

-  Brady Frederick leads UT with nine appearances, all out of the bullpen. In 13 1/3 innings the junior right-hander has struck out 15 while going 3-0 with a 3.38 ERA.
