RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University will play its first weekend home series of the season starting Friday against Illinois State.
Friday's contest will start at 5 p.m. Saturday's game is scheduled for 1 p.m. The series finale on Sunday is set for 12 p.m.
Baseball Bingo is back on Friday. Fans have a chance to win an EKU Swag Bag. Sunday is Junior Colonel Club Day with members getting into the game for FREE. Kids have a chance to be the "Play Ball" kid, guest public address announcer and can run the bases after the game. The Kids Day Combo includes a hot dog, chips and drink for $8.

- EKU is 3-10 after suffering a pair of midweek losses to No. 21 ranked Kentucky.

Jacob Price and
Carson van Haaren have both made three weekend starts. Price is coming off back-to-back quality starts. He is 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA with 14 strikeouts in 18 innings. van Haaren is 0-2 with a 13.06 ERA.

Griffin Howell has made seven appearances out of the bullpen and hasn't allowed a run in six of them. On Wednesday he pitched a scoreless inning with two strikeouts at Kentucky.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Illinois State dropped to 7-5 after a 12-5 road loss at Southern Indiana on Tuesday.
- Kannon Coakley has a team-best .360 batting average. Brayden Bakes leads the team in runs (14), home runs (4) and RBIs (11) while hitting .340.
- Thomas Harper and Luke Teschke have both made three starts this season. Harper is 1-1 with a 6.55 ERA. He has struck out 10 in 11 innings. Teschke is 0-1 with an 11.74 ERA. He has allowed 10 runs in 7 2/3 innings.
- Lucas Foley is tied for the team lead in appearances with five. He is 3-0 with a 0.75 ERA. In 12 innings he has struck out 13 and allowed only one earned run.

- Illinois State holds a 5-1 lead in the all-time series and has won four in a row over the Colonels. The teams last met in a 3-game series in Normal on March 20-22, 2015.
