Colonels Finish Off Homestand Against Kentucky State On Tuesday

RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University's baseball team will host Kentucky State on Tuesday at Earle Combs Stadium.
 
The game will begin at 6 p.m. ET and air live on ESPN+.
 
It will be $2 Day with tickets, popcorn, hot dogs and beer priced at $2 each.  There will also be a beer stein giveaway for students.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU is 9-27 this season after suffering a 3-game conference sweep to visiting Bellarmine.
 
-  Over the last seven games, Kobe Benson is hitting .500 with a .640 on-base percentage.  He is 9-for-18 at the plate with six walks, four runs, one home run and one RBI.
 
-  In his last seven games, Khaleel Pratt is hitting .400 (8-for-20) with six home runs, 14 RBIs and 10 runs scored.  He has a 1.400 slugging percentage and a .606 on-base percentage over that time.
 
-  Brock Blanton hasn't allowed a run in his last three appearances and has struck out five in three innings of work.  He has only allowed two hits and has not walked a batter.
 
-  Dylan Littlefield is seventh in the ASUN with 32 RBIs and tied for sixth with 10 home runs.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Kentucky State is 10-28 this season and has lost four straight.  The Thorobreds are coming off a 37-10 loss against Spring Hill on Sunday.
 
-  Haruta Endo is hitting .354 with 35 runs, 10 doubles and 25 stolen bases.
 
-  Ryan Campbell leads the team in home runs (10), runs scored (36) and RBIs (41) while hitting .345.
 
-  KSU has a 14.93 team ERA and has hit 121 batters with a pitch.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The Colonels lead the all-time series 20-10 and have won 12 straight over the Thorobreds.  EKU is 16-5 against Kentucky State in games played in Richmond.  The first meeting between the two programs came on Sept. 19, 1972 in Frankfort.
 
-  In the most recent meeting, on Feb. 23, 2022 in Richmond, the Colonels picked up a 15-0 victory in seven innings.  Jalen Jones finished 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs for EKU.
