RICHMOND, Ky. - The Eastern Kentucky University beach volleyball team improved to 15-7 with a 5-0 sweep of Liberty on Friday.

The Colonels won all five flights without dropping a set in a dominant showing over the Lady Flames.

It marked the second meeting between the two programs, with EKU earning a 5-0 sweep in both matchups.
Zsa Zsa Ferguson and
Sutton Sales set the tone early with a quick victory in the No. 4 flight, 21-16, 21-6.

Gabriella Armitage and
Elpida Pitsigkoni pushed the lead to 2-0 after securing back-to-back 21-18 set wins.

Amanda Floystad and
Carlyn Mcallister clinched the match for EKU in the No. 3 flight, holding Liberty to under 10 points in each set in a 21-9, 21-6 victory.

In the top flight,
Molly Shomock and
Riley Cutler earned a 21-14, 21-19 win, pulling away in a tightly contested second set.

Sami Deidesheimer and
Arilyn Lee closed out the sweep with a 21-5, 21-13 win in the No. 5 flight.

With the victory, EKU improves to 2-0 on the weekend and moves within one win of tying the program record for victories in a season. The Colonels return to action Saturday at 12 p.m. against Ottawa.
