MURRAY, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women’s tennis team remained perfect in OVC action Saturday behind a 6-1 win over host Murray State. With the win, the Colonels improve to 14-5 overall and 3-0 in the OVC.

Alexandra Sitnikova trailed 7-4 before rallying to win their match in a tie-breaker.
In singles, victories by Pimenova and Sitnikova quickly gave the Colonels a 3-0 edge. Sophomore
Myriem Mhirit clinched the team win with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 triumph at No. 2 singles. Sophomore

Jemma Euers (No. 6) were also victorious in singles.
“The Racers were well prepared and wanted to win on their Senior Day,” EKU head coach Rob Oertel said. “I liked how we played with a quiet, cool confidence throughout the match that carried us to the win.”
Eastern Kentucky finishes its weekend trip tomorrow, March 29, at Tennessee State. Match time is set for 11 a.m.
