BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Eastern Kentucky fell 5-2 at No. 17 Indiana on Tuesday. The Hoosiers scored one run in five different innings.
After falling behind 2-0, the Colonels tied the score in the third inning.
Shaun Ball’s ground ball with one out and the bases loaded platted the first run.
Austin Grisham stole home to make it a 2-2 game.
Indiana took the lead back in the fourth on an RBI single to right center by Justin Cureton.
Grisham had two hits in four at bats and scored once.
John Wilson went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Cureton finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI for IU.
Matt Lynch (0-4) started for Eastern and allowed four runs, three of which were earned, on seven hits in six innings. He walked three and struck out two. Christian Morris started for Indiana and allowed two runs in two and two-thirds innings. Luke Harrison (3-1) pitched five and one-third innings of scoreless relief.
The Colonels will play host to Austin Peay for a three-game conference series beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday.
