RICHMOND, Ky. – Fifth place Eastern Kentucky University will host second place Jacksonville State for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference baseball series this weekend.
Game one of the series will be at 3 p.m. on Friday. Game two is scheduled for noon on Saturday. The series finale is set for Sunday at 1 p.m.
EKU (17-28, 13-10 OVC) sits in fifth place with two weekends remaining in the regular season. The top six teams in the OVC standings qualify for the conference tournament. Eastern has a two game lead on sixth place Southeast Missouri and a 4.5 game lead on seventh place Morehead State.
Jacksonville State (27-22, 18-6 OVC) is tied with Belmont for second place. Both teams are one game behind OVC leader Tennessee Tech.
Friday’s pitching match-up will feature OVC Pitcher of the Week
Brent Cobb (5-5, 4.08 ERA) for Eastern Kentucky and Casey Antley (4-4, 5.13 ERA) for JSU. Saturday’s starters are
Ben Gullo (2-2, 4.58 ERA) for the Colonels and Taylor Shields (6-2, 3.73 ERA) for the Gamecocks. Sunday’s pitching match-up is to be determined.

Austin Grisham enters the weekend with a 12-game hitting streak.
