BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. – Host Marshall defeated the Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team Saturday evening at the Huntington Tennis Club, 6-1.
Eastern's (1-4) lone point came from
Amandine Faouzi at No. 1 singles. The senior fought off a match point at 9-8 in the super tiebreaker before knocking off nationally ranked Derya Turhan. This was the second straight season Faouzi was able to defeat Turhan.
Fellow senior
Marcela Jimenez was the only other Colonel to win a set. She won the second set of her match at No. 4 singles before falling in a super tiebreaker, 10-4.
Eastern Kentucky's next match is a home contest against Lindsey Wilson on Friday, Feb. 13.
