RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University baseball team returns to Richmond to host a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series against the University of Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks this weekend at Earle Combs Stadium.

The series opener is set for a 6 p.m. start on Friday, while the Saturday game will get underway at 2 p.m., and the Sunday finale is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Colonels (14-12, 1-5 OVC) picked up a win at Marshall on Tuesday, and have won six of their previous 10Â games.

The Skyhawks (9-12, 1-8 OVC) have wins over Buffalo, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Lipscomb and Belmont this season.

Ben Fisher's impressive numbers lead the EKU offense. The senior's 13 home runs, 42 RBIs, and 39 runs are all ranked first in the NCAA. His 44 hits are tied for third in the NCAA.
Daniel McFarland is also having a career year as he already has career highs with five home runs, 19 RBIs, 35 hits and 22 runs.
Shea Sullivan also has a career high three home runs and 26 RBIs.
Cornell Nixon's eight stolen bases are good for third in the OVC, and
Nick Howie is tied for the OVC lead in walks with 21.

The Colonels will have
Jack Piekos on the mound for the series opener. Piekos has the second lowest opponent batting average in the OVC with a .198 average.
Aaron Ochsenbein will take over the starter duties on Saturday, and
Eric Nerl will be on the bump on Sunday.Â
