RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University baseball team will honor the alumni of the program as it welcomes the Jacksonville State University Gamecocks to Earle Combs Stadium for an Ohio Valley Conference series this weekend.
Program alumni will be honored before each game in the series. Game one is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start on Friday, and alumni that played on teams from the start of the program up to 1979 will be honored. Game two will get underway at 4 p.m. on Saturday and the alumni from 1980 to 1999 will be recognized before this game. Finally, alumni from 2000 to 2016 will be honored before the series finale, set for 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The Colonels (21-20, 7-11 OVC) are looking to get back on track after dropping a game to No. 2 Louisville on Tuesday.
The Gamecocks (20-18, 8-10 OVC) are coming off a win at Alabama on Tuesday, and a series loss to OVC rival Belmont over the weekend. JSU is led by Trent Simpson and his eight home runs, 37 RBIs and 51 hits.
The Eastern offense is driven by
Ben Fisher and his 18 home runs this season. Fisher ranks second in the NCAA in home runs, while being tied for second in runs with 52.
Nick Howie ranks second on the team in home runs with seven, and he has 31 RBIs and 44 hits as well.
Alex Holderbach has the second best batting average on the team at .343, along with his 34 RBIs and 46 hits.
Casey Collins will be on the mound for the Colonels on Friday, while
Eric Nerl takes over pitching duties on Saturday and
Bryan Quillens will be on the bump for Sunday's series finale.
