RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University baseball team heads west to face the Murray State University Racers in an Ohio Valley Conference series this weekend at Reagan Field.

Game one is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start on Friday, while game two will get underway at 3 p.m. on Saturday and the series finale is set for a 2 p.m. start on Sunday.

EKU (22-23, 8-13 OVC) notched a win over Jacksonville State last weekend in Richmond.

Murray State (22-23, 10-11 OVC) has wins over No. 13 Louisiana, Southern Illinois, and series wins over Belmont and Southeast Missouri this year.

The Colonels are led by
Ben Fisher and his 20 home runs. Fisher ranks second in the NCAA in homers, while being tied for fourth in runs with 55. His 56 RBIs rank second in the OVC and are tied for seventh nationally.
Alex Holderbach's eight home runs rank second on the squad, and he's got 51 hits and 39 RBIs as well.
Shea Sullivan has the second most hits on the team with 57. The senior also has a career high six home runs and 39 RBIs this season.

Eric Nerl will start on the mound for EKU on Friday, while
Casey Collins will start Saturday and
Bryan Quillens will be on the bump for Sunday's series finale. Collins is coming off a quality start against Jacksonville State last weekend. The junior went six innings and only gave up two runs on three hits while striking out five batters.

EKU returns home after the series with the Racers to host the University of Tennessee for its ALS awareness game on May 10.Â
