RICHMOND, Ky. – The men's and women's basketball teams will host Jacksonville State for a doubleheader on Saturday. The women's game starts at 4:30 p.m. and the men's game at 7 p.m. Saturday is Military Appreciation Day with all current and former military members, along with a guest, receiving free admission. Additional guests will receive a discounted rate of $7.

A'Queen Hayes fielded an inbound pass under the basket and laid it in at the buzzer to send Eastern Kentucky (6-10, 3-4 OVC) to a 55-53 victory over visiting Tennessee Tech on Thursday.
Hayes finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in the win over Tennessee Tech.
Eastern Kentucky out-rebounded TTU by six, scored 15 second-chance points off 12 offensive rebounds and out-scored the Golden Eagles 32-16 in the paint.
Hayes is eighth in the OVC in scoring (14.9 ppg), fourth in rebounding (8.2 rpg), fifth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3), tied for ninth in assists (3.5 apg), first in minutes played (35.6/g), second in offensive rebounds (3.6/g) and ninth in defensive rebounds (4.6/g).
Eastern is third in the OVC in scoring defense (63.1 ppg), fourth in rebounding margin (+3.2), fourth in rebounding offense (38.3 rpg), fourth in rebounding defense (35.1 rpg), fifth in blocks (3.3/g) and fifth in field goal percentage defense (40 percent).
EKU leads the all-time series with Jacksonville State, 18-12, but the Gamecocks have won three straight.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Rayven Pearson, a 6-foot-2 junior forward, leads JSU in scoring (9.5 ppg) and rebounding (10.3 rpg), while shooting 49 percent from the field this season.
As a team, the Gamecocks average 66 points per game and hold their opponents to 57 per contest. Jax State has limited its opponents to 37 percent shooting from the field and 26 percent from three-point range.
Ki-Ki Patterson's rebound and layup in the closing seconds propelled Jacksonville State from a double-digit, second-half deficit to a last-second 67-65 win on the road at Morehead State on Thursday.

- EKU (8-12, 2-5 OVC) dropped a close one to Tennessee Tech, 70-67, on Thursday night at McBrayer.
- Sophomore
DeAndre Dishman matched his career-high with 18 points vs. Tennessee Tech on Thursday. He connected on a career-high nine field goals in the game, and he now ranks second in the OVC in field goal percentage (55.6).
- Freshman
A.J. Youngman matched his career-high with 14 points vs. Tennessee Tech. He went 4-of-6 from behind the arc and he now ranks second in the OVC in three-point field goal percentage (45.8).
- Junior
Nick Mayo passed
Eric Stutz on Thursday to move to No. 15 on EKU's all-time scoring list with 1,344 points. Next up on the list: George Bryant (1,345 points) and Kenny Elliot (1,353 points).
- Mayo enters Saturday's game with 491 career rebounds. He would be only the eighth EKU player ever with 1,300 career points and 500 career rebounds.
- EKU lost the turnover battle to Tennessee Tech, 18-16. The Colonels had won the turnover battle in their last nine games before Thursday.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Jacksonville State (14-6, 5-2 OVC) edged Morehead State, 58-57, on Thursday.
- The Gamecocks are paced by Malcolm Drumwright, who comes into the weekend averaging 13.7 points and 3.5 assists-per-game.
- This is the 30th all-time meeting between EKU and Jacksonville State. The Colonels lead the series, 20-9; however, the Gamecocks won, 76-68, in late December in Jacksonville.
