RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky women's basketball embarks on year two of the Coach Todd era at home against Evansville on Monday, November 7 at 5:00 p.m. ET inside Alumni Coliseum to kick off the 2022-23 season.
Monday's game against the Purple Aces will be aired live on

On Wednesday afternoon, Baptist Health and Eastern Kentucky University announced today the signing of an 11-year naming rights partnership for the arena inside Alumni Coliseum.
Effective immediately, EKU women's basketball will now play on Paul S. McBrayer Court at Baptist Health Arena. Monday's meeting with Evansville will be the first official game played on the new playing surface inside AC.
Eastern Kentucky University will celebrate the 60th anniversary of Alumni Coliseum throughout the 2022-23 basketball season.
Promotions
Monday's home opener for women's (5:00 p.m.) and men's basketball (7:30 p.m.) will feature a magnet schedule giveaway for fans in attendance courtesy of EKU athletics marketing. Also, fans that bring canned food items to the arena will receive a complimentary ticket to the game.

- EKU looks to improve to 2-0 in season openers and home openers under

- Last season the Colonels finished the season at 15th in the nation in free-throws made and top-65 in blocked shots, steals, and forced turnovers.

Alice Recanati started in all 31 of the teams contests in the 2021-22 season, averaging 9.9 points, 3.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per night.

Ariel Kirkwood looks to step into a larger role for EKU this season, last year she averaged 22.0 minutes a game, with just under seven points per contest.

All-Time vs. Evansville
- Monday's matchup is the fifth meeting between EKU and Evansville, the series is all tied up at two wins apiece.
- Evansville claimed the last game in the series at home on Nov. 17, 2021, by a score of 67-57.
Scouting the Purple Aces
- Head coach Robyn Sherr-Wells enters her second season at the helm of UE, in her inaugural season the Purple Aces finished with an 8-22 overall record.
- Evansville defeated Roosevelt College 101-57 in a home exhibition last week.
- Similar to EKU, Evansville finished top-30 in the NCAA last season in made free throws.
- In the 2021-22 season, Evansville averaged 66.1 points per game which was 141st in the country.
- UE returns heavy-hitting senior Abby Feit who was 33rd in the country in double doubles last year, averaging 15.1 points and 8.9 rebounds a night.
- The Purple Aces return four members of last season's starting rotation in Feit, Anna Newman, Celine Dupont, and Myia Clark.
- Newman led the team in points, blocks, FG percentage, minutes, rebounds, steals.
