CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Eastern Kentucky University will open a 3-game series at Western Carolina with a doubleheader on Saturday.

Game one of the series is NOW scheduled for 1 p.m., with game two following. The series finale is set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

- Â Western Carolina leads the all-time series 18-9.

-  WCU has won three of the last four meetings. The teams last played on May 14, 2019 in Mason, Ohio with the Catamounts winning 9-6. The last game between the two in Cullowehee was on March 13, 2013, an 11-7 Western Carolina victory.

- EKU is 4-5 this season. The Colonels lost at No. 4 Louisville on Tuesday.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Western Carolina stands at 2-7 on the season and six straight. The Catamounts fell at Gardner-Webb, 14-4, on Wednesday.

-  Shortstop Pascanel Ferreras leads the team with a .424 batting average and nine RBIs. Center fielder Kyle Riesselmann has a team-best eight runs scored while batting .273.

-  Adam Quincy has made three appearances out of the bullpen. He has not allowed a run and given up just two hits.
-  Sophomore right-hander Matt Schepel will start game one for the Catamounts. He is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA this season and nine strikeouts in 10 innings. Game two and three starters have not been determined for WCU.
