FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Edna Chelulei wrote another chapter in the Eastern Kentucky University track and field history books on Friday night, finishing sixth in the women's 5,000m at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The Kenyan took First Team All-American honors with a time of 15:15.10, becoming the first woman from EKU to earn First Team honors at the indoor championships since Jamie King in 1998.
Chelulei pairs the indoor All-American status with a second-team and honorable mention recognition from the 2025 outdoor season in the 10,000m and 5,000m at last season's NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The indoor championships will conclude tomorrow with
Taha Er Raouy running for EKU in the men's 3,000m at 6:25 p.m. CT.
