WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Colonels of Eastern Kentucky University got off to a strong start at the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday.
Kristian Imroth provided the performance of the day taking first in the men's 3,000m steeplechase in the invite section with the sixth fastest time in Division I this season with a time of 8:33.32.
In the women's race,
Ann Kiplagat took second in her section with a time of 10:57.04 improving on her time of 11:04.49 at the Jim Vargo Invitational in March.
In the field events,
Senda Garma came up just shy of her own school record in the women's hammer throw going 55.27m finishing fifth while
Matthew See led the men with a personal best mark of 51.72m to finish seventh.
Action in Winston-Salem will continue tomorrow.
