EKU Baseball Hosts North Alabama This Weekend

RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University's baseball team will host North Alabama for a 3-game Atlantic Sun Conference series this weekend.
 
Friday's series opener is set for 6 p.m. ET.  Saturday and Sunday's games will begin at 1 p.m. each day.  The first two games will air live on ESPN+.
 
Baseball Bingo is back on Friday, giving fans a chance to win an EKU Swag Bag. 
 
Teachers In The Bleachers is scheduled for Saturday.  All EKU faculty/staff and Madison County teachers can receive one FREE ticket to the game.  Click here to get your ticket. 
 
Sunday is Junior Colonel Club Day with members getting into the game for FREE.  Kids have a chance to be the "Play Ball" kid, guest public address announcer and can run the bases after the game.  The Kids Day Combo includes a hot dog, chips and drink for $8.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU fell to 10-31 after a midweek loss to Western Kentucky on Tuesday.
 
-  Outfielder David Alvarez has a team-best .289 batting average.  He has also has 10 doubles, 25 runs and 27 RBIs.
 
-  Dylan Littlefield leads the team in home runs (11) and RBIs (35).
 
-  Hayden Collins has made 14 appearances out of the bullpen and one start.  He is 0-2 with a 5.58 ERA.
 
-  The trio of Bradley Gagen, Jacob Price and Carson van Haaren started on the mound last weekend for the Colonels.  Gagen, a redshirt junior lefty, is 0-3 with a 7.40 ERA.  Price, a redshirt junior right-hander, is fourth in the conference in innings pitched and is 3-3 with a 5.43 ERA.  van Haaren, a sophomore right-hander, is 0-4 but has struck out 31 batters in 32 1/3 innings.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  North Alabama is 20-20 overall and leads the division with an 11-7 ASUN mark.  The Lions lost a series at home against Lipscomb last weekend and beat Tennessee Tech on Wednesday.
 
-  Outfielder Nash Rippen leads the team with a .328 batting average.  He also has 36 runs, 12 home runs and 33 RBIs.
 
-  Designated hitter Dylan Coleman leads the team in home runs (14), RBIs (41) and runs scored (37) while hitting .261.
 
-  Tripp Patterson, a sophomore left-hander, has made 10 starts on the mound this season and has a 4-3 record with a 6.38 ERA.  Luke Davenport has started seven times.  The sophomore right-hander is 2-4 with a 6.97 ERA.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  EKU leads the all-time series 13-8 and is 7-2 against North Alabama in games played in Richmond.  The Lions have won five of the last six meetings, all of which were in Florence.
 
-  North Alabama completed a 3-game sweep in Florence with a 7-5 victory in the most recent meeting, on March 22.  EKU tied it in the eighth before the Lions scored twice in the bottom half of the inning to pull out the win.  Alvarez was 1-for-5 with a run and two RBIs for the Colonels.  Will Millard had a 2-for-4 game with two runs and two RBIs for UNA.
