JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Eastern Kentucky University sophomore
Edna Chelulei has been voted the ASUN Co-Women's Most Outstanding Track Performer for the 2026 outdoor season, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Chelulei ran the seventh fastest 10,000 meters time in NCAA history this outdoor season, shattering the EKU record in a time of 31:33.57 at the Stanford Invitational on April 3. That time is currently the third fastest in the country this season.
The native of Uasin Gishu County, Kenya won gold in the 1,500 meters at the ASUN Outdoor Championships on May 16, clocking a personal-best time of 4:16.84. That time was the fastest in the ASUN this season.
She also won the 5,000 meters at the Duke Twilight on May 3, posting a time of 15:36.70.
Chelulei will race in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA East First Rounds this week in Lexington. She is looking to punch her to ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene for the second straight year.
Chelulei competed in both the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
During the indoor season, Chelulei ran a school-record 15:05.16 in the 5,000 meters. That time also ranks top-10 in NCAA history. She went on to finish sixth in the 5K at the NCAA Indoor Championships in February, claiming first team All-America honors.
Chelulei shared ASUN Women's Most Outstanding Track Performer honors with Central Arkansas' Brenae Allen.

Eight Colonels were named to the ASUN Academic All-ASUN Team.
On the men's side,
Matthew See,
Daroyce Flemons,
Kristian Imroth,
Mario Priego Montero, and
Miguel Baidal earned the honors.
For the women,
Senda Garma,
Khadija Ennasri, and
Kristan Simmons were named to the team.
See posted a 3.5 cumulative GPA while pursuing an MS in Exercise & Sport Science / Exercise & Wellness. He took silver in the shot put at the ASUN Outdoor Championships and broke EKU's long-time school record in that event this outdoor season.
Flemons broke the school record in the both the hammer and weight this season. He scored points with a fourth place finish in the hammer at the ASUN Outdoor Championships. He graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA and an MS Exercise & Sport Science / Sports Administration.
Imroth has a 3.66 cumulative GPA while working on an MBA at EKU. He won the 1,500 meters at the ASUN Outdoor Championships and has clocked the 16
th fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase time in the NCAA this season.
Priego Montero has a 3.72 cumulative GPA while working on an MS Exercise & Sport Science / Sports Administration. He took bronze in the 1,500 meters at the ASUN Outdoor Championships and qualified for the NCAA East First Rounds in the 5,000 meters.
Baidal is the reigning ASUN champion in the indoor and outdoor 5,000 meters. He will race in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA East First Rounds this week in Lexington. Baidal has a 3.75 GPA while working on a degree in Sport Management / Management.
Garma took silver in the hammer at the ASUN Outdoor Championships. She is the school record holder in that event. She has a 3.63 GPA while pursuing a degree in Sport Management / Management.
Ennasri was the ASUN silver medalist in the 3,000-meter steeplechase this year. She has now earned three consecutive ASUN silver medals in that event. She has posted a 3.53 cumulative GPA while majoring in Sport Management / Management.
Simmons took silver in the discus and fourth in the hammer at the ASUN Outdoor Championships. Her silver medal discus toss was the second best in school history. She currently has a 3.5 GPA while working on a degree in Exercise & Sport Science / Pre-Athletic Training.
