As a team, EKU is hitting just .247. But, the Colonels are slugging .409 and have been successful on 10 of their 13 stolen base attempts.
ISU was swept in a season-opening three-game series at Southeastern Louisiana; however, the Colonels have won four straight heading into Richmond.
ISU comes into the weekend batting .293 as a team. The Sycamores are led at the plate by Landon Curry, who is hitting .458 with 11 runs scored and four stolen bases. Koby Kraemer, meanwhile, has driven in a team-high 10 runs.
EKU will go with the same pitching rotation as last weekend: senior right-hander
Matt Harris (0-1), junior right-hander
Chase Greene (0-2) and junior left-hander
Shane Grimm (0-2). Senior right-hander
Matt Fyffe has been the Colonels’ best pitcher out of the bullpen, as he has posted a 1-0 record with a 1.93 ERA and a team-best eight strikeouts through 9.1 innings pitched this season.
ISU will counter with right-hander Dakota Bacus (1-1), left-hander Sean Manaea (1-1) and right-hander Ryan Torgerson (1-0).
Following this weekend’s series, EKU will take off on a five-game spring break trip to UNC Greensboro and Wofford.
