RICHMOND, Ky. – Bowling Green State exploded for 14 runs in the top of the third inning and then cruised past the Eastern Kentucky University baseball team, 22-2, on Saturday afternoon to even this weekend’s three game series at Turkey Hughes Field.
EKU (7-10) and BGSU (6-12) will meet in the rubber game of the series tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
Senior southpaw
Greg Terry (1-2) picked up the loss for EKU, throwing just two innings and surrendering seven runs on seven hits while striking out two batters.
Right-hander Ethan McKenney (1-4) tossed a complete game gem for BGSU, working all nine innings and allowing two runs on five hits while fanning eight batters.
Junior
Alex Hughes blasted his first home run of the season in the bottom of the third and senior
Jacob Daniel hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth to provide the Colonels’ only runs of the game.
Andrew Kubuski hit a pair of home runs and led the Falcons with seven RBI, while Drew Kuns finished the afternoon 3-for-5 with three runs scored and five RBI.
