RICHMOND, Ky. – Six seniors will be playing their final home matches as a Colonel this weekend for the Eastern Kentucky University tennis teams – Juanjo de la Llera, Daridge Saidi, Amandine Faouzi, Melissa Gerritsen, Marcela Jimenez and Kristina Labeja.
 
The EKU women (10-7, 5-1 OVC) are currently in a four-way tie in the loss column for first place in the conference with two weeks remaining in the regular season. The Colonels face UT Martin on Friday, April 3 and Southeast Missouri on Saturday, April 4. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
 
Faouzi, Gerritsen, Jimenez and Labeja have already helped Eastern Kentucky reach two NCAA Tournaments (2012, 2013). In their four years on the team, the Colonels are an amazing 33-2 (.943) against OVC opponents.
 
Just like the women, the EKU men (13-6, 6-1) are in the thick of the league race. The Colonels host Butler in a non-conference match Saturday immediately following the women's contest.
 
Both de la Llera and Saidi have been consistent contributors in their three years on the team. This year, de la Llera is a perfect 6-0 in OVC singles action while Saidi has posted a 4-2 record.
 
All three matches are scheduled to be played outdoors at the Coach Tom Higgins Tennis Courts. However, if there were inclement weather, the matches would move indoors to the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
