RALEIGH, N.C. – The opening day of the Raleigh Relays saw a strong start from the men of Eastern Kentucky University on Thursday, with three new top-five times in program history.
Kristian Imroth got things started for the Colonels with a time of 3:41.02 in the men's 1,500 meters, the third fastest time in program history.
Imroth's time saw him finish eighth overall out of 224 total finishers in the event.
Later that night,
Bradley Giblin made his outdoor debut as a Colonel in impressive fashion with a ninth-place finish in the 5,000m with a time of 13:41.41, the fifth fastest outdoor time ever by a Colonel.
Giblin was followed closely by teammate
Taha Er Raouy in 12
th with a time of 13:42.54.
Miguel Baidal brought things to a close with a bang in the 10,000m running a time of 28:33.38, finishing seventh with the third fastest time in EKU history.
The action in Raleigh continues tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. as the women of EKU take center stage in the 1,500m, 5,000m, and 10,000m.
