BOSTON, Mass. – Five Colonels clocked personal-best times at the Sharon Colyear Danville Season Opener on Saturday at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
Pedro Garcia-Palencia led EKU in the 3,000m with a personal-best time of 8:01.96 finishing in ninth place out of 73 runners.
Keeton Thornsberry claimed 12
th place with a big career-best 3,000m time of 8:04.12.
Anouk van Gils also raced to a personal-best 3,000m time of 9:36.46.
Jone Zabaleta Larranaga posted a 5,000m time of 16:19.97 while
Grace Kilroy clocked a 5,000 time of 17:16.29.
Hakim Abouzouhir ran a 5,000m time of 14:07.85 in his first indoor track meet as a Colonel and
Enock Kipchumba posted a career-best 5,000m time of 14:16.24.
Joan Tapias raced to a personal-best 5,000m time of 14:22.76.
After a break for the holidays, the team will compete at the Rod McCravy Invite hosted by in-state foe Kentucky on Jan. 13-14.
