Siemon was a member of coach Roy Kidd’s first EKU football team and played defensive end for the Colonels from 1964-67. He was a big part of Eastern raising its win total from three to eight in 1967, which culminated in an OVC championship and a 27-13 victory over Ball State in the NCAA Mideast Region championship game. He was an All-OVC player as a sophomore and as a senior while also serving as co-captain for the 1967 Grantland Rice Bowl championship team. He was the team’s leading pass rusher as a sophomore and was second on the team in interceptions with four. While injuries slowed him his senior year, he served as tri-captain as Eastern compiled a 7-3 overall record and led the OVC in team defense, allowing but 203.8 yards per contest. Siemon returned to full strength his senior year leading a defense that gave up only 70 points in the 10-game regular season which included three shutouts and four contests allowing just seven points to the opponent. After graduation, he was signed as a free agent by the San Francisco 49’ers but his football career ended with an injury in 1968. He was inducted into the founder’s class of the Springfield Clark Shawnee Hall of Fame in 2012.
