Hall of Fame
An outstanding offensive lineman for Hall of Fame head coach Roy Kidd, Fred Troike earned All-America honors in 1968. Troike earned All-Ohio Valley Conference in 1967 and 1968, leading the Colonels to league titles each of those two years.
Troike was an integral member of the 1967 Grantland Rice Bowl championship squad. He was also awarded the EKU Renegade Lineman of the Year award as a senior in 1968, a season in which he served as team co-captain.
Following his collegiate career, Troike earned a master’s degree from Murray State and went on to teach high school for 35 years. He served as the Industrial Arts department head for Dade County Schools as well as coaching football. A native of Miami, Florida, Troike has been a member of the Worn Cleat Club since its inception.
