Anderson was a right-handed pitcher and a designated player for coach Jane Worthington’s EKU softball team from 2004-07. She began her collegiate career in fine fashion as she was named Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year, First Team All-OVC and named to the All-OVC Tournament team. She led Eastern to an OVC championship in 2004 as EKU won a program-record 42 games and competed in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in school history. In her first season at EKU, she finished 18-10 in the circle, recording a 1.82 ERA with 21 complete games and 10 shutouts, while batting .317. She followed that season up with years of 13-12, 19-14 and 12-16 on the mound and batting averages of .310, .286 and .270. During her sophomore season, she led the team in ERA and saves with three. She was named to the All-OVC Tournament team as a junior and led the Colonels in wins, ERA and shutouts as a senior. She finished 62-52 for her Eastern pitching career with 28 shutouts, a 2.33 ERA, six saves and 627 strikeouts. She also totaled 19 home runs at EKU with 117 career RBIs. She still holds the Colonel record for most games played in a season (62), most games started on the mound (36) and most consecutive shutouts (4), all accomplished in her junior season.
